It's that time of the month... where I roll out another sidequest. (a few days late, acknowledged). After a couple of weeks of vacation, followed by 2 weeks of being super sick and doing family Thanksgiving day stuff, I present to you Sirens BOTB: Sidequest 2 — A Circus of Crisis, written by Joseph Asphahani.
This is a standalone adventure, which can also be played between chapters 2 & 3 in Sirens: Battle of the Bards.
Backers, you can find this in the Backer Google Drive link titled"Sirens Backer Files" where you can also find the previous releases: Setting Material, Player Material, Quest Master Material, Sidequest 1.
That's all I have for today as I continue to heal up from this ... not covid whatever it is.

Happy Halloween everyone! Hope you had a delightful night, in whatever form you spent it.
Your First New Playable Adventure!
Firstly, as previously promised, we bring you the first side quest! It’s a great intro to get in the swing of performing in Salvata. This can be run on its own or after the first adventure, which you should have received when we ran the Kickstarter. Be sure to read the Quest Master Material, Setting Material, and Player Material prior to running this side quest as it includes mechanics on Stage Performances and the world of Salvata.
All Quest Master Material, much like content in the Dungeon Master’s Guide… is merely guidance to run the game. It is still your game. If you want to change it, remove or add to it, it’s your prerogative. You are a sovereign creative being and I hope the content in these pages adds to your Quest Master tool kit. If you have questions about anything in the released Sirens: Battle of the Bards content, please email me at [email protected]. I’m very excited to talk about this game. It fills me with light and delight to nerd out with you!

There are a few more bits I need to do in the spreadsheet requested by the warehouse. I just wrapped a couple of big work projects, ended the school term, and finished grading finals, so I will be able to give this more focus when I return in late Nov.

As seasons shift into autumn and time jumps around a bit, so too does life.
A little update on my life for those interested: I’ve shifted my job as a professor to focus on my coaching and podcasting business. It feels so good to be of service in a new way and to share the knowledge of the great learning of the last few years in a very open and vulnerable manner. No more secrets. I’m excited to finally share the details of this life journey with others. Much like GM Tips, I’m interviewing experts in the wellness and healing world to share their incredible knowledge.
GM Tips with Satine Phoenix was to share various ways to tell stories. Feel Younger, Think Wiser is to bring information to folks who want to intentionally transform themselves into the specific main characters they’d like to be for the rest of their lives. Two very different shows and its a pleasure to consciously make this transition into something new while still working my creative muscles with Sirens: Battle of the Bards.
So, to begin this transition, I’m heading to a proper real vacation, not work-cation, for the next 17 days. I’ll be back with updates for you all and another Sidequest between the 22nd of November and the Monday after Thanksgiving.

Within the BACKER Link “Sirens Backer Files 2025” I have uploaded the 224 page Quest Master Material! (I will resend the link to the book backers via backer kit and backer only KS update next)
Within the Backer Files link you will find:
Player Material (69 pages)
Setting Material (66 pages)
Quest Master Material (224 pages)
This SBoTB Quest Master Material is Version 1.
The missing parts to this will be finalized once the adventure is written. The items to be updated are:
1. Running this Campaign
2. Factions & Faction Tracker
3. Artwork for Muse: Tasalana (hopefully finished by the end of Nov)
4. Artwork for Muse: Theados (hopefully finished by the end of Nov)
THE QUEST MASTER MATERIAL HAS SPOILERS AND CAMPAIGN SET UP INFORMATION - only read it if you intend on running it or it will spoil some of the major surprises.
On October 6th Anthony the Editor and I are diving into the Sirens: Battle of the Bards storyline and Chapters as they stand now. Once we have an idea of how the adventure will be dissected and reassembled, I’ll let you all know what the scope looks like. The good thing is that out of 20 Adventures in Sirens: Battle of the Bards, 10 are Sidequests already written by the Special Guest writers, and all they need is to be edited.
As I’ve noted in the last update, we will be releasing one side quest per month. The first will be released around Halloween. You will be able to play these adventures as one shots. They too will have some Sirens: Battle of the Bards spoilers. But shouldn’t give too much of the intrigue away.

The last parts of this book are the Campaign and the Appendix. I’ll get that out to you guys, then spend however long it takes to compile the entire 4 parts of this into one massive PDF, which will be ready for you to play.
Once that is put together, I’ll get to the Character sheet and the DM screen.
After that will be to do the layout for the printed book.
Then I’ll go through the VTTs and see what we have already. I know for a fact we paid for those to be made and they have been so it’ll just be a matter of tracking those elements down and putting them into whatever package/format.
Merch - Stlil working on the spreadsheet. I didn’t have it organized the way it was required so I have to go through and sort through SKUs and such. So, as I was focused on finishing this, I’ll be working on that as well.
It’s all a process that, as you can see, has forward momentum.

Quest Master Material PDF
Today, Anthony the Editor and I had the last meeting about the Quest Master Material, and we are excited to announce that we have 2 sections in QM Settings to edit and 2 Agents & Muses to edit, and then ALL 40+ sections of the QM material will be ready to be placed into a PDF with the corresponding artwork and sent out!
There are some elements left out as they will be determined as/after the campaign itself is written and these details are calculated. Things like “how to run the campaign”, what NPCs are in what location in what chapter, or where a certain something can be found.
TIMEFRAME:
Anthony is aiming for Monday Sept 27, to wrap QM Material Edits. In the meantime, I’m prepping the document with art and estimate I will have everything in Quest Master Material to send to Sirens Book Backers by October 1st!
Sirens Battle of the Bards Campaign!
THIS IS SO EXCITING!!!
Anthony and I have a meeting scheduled for October 6th to go over the main 10 adventure campaign and work out the storyline, rewrites, and edits.
We have all 10 of the Sidequests written by the guest writers that will not be changing. Our goal is to edit and release one sidequest each month starting at the end of October. Each sidequest can be played as a standalone adventure or played in with the Sirens: Battle of the Bards campaign.
Do we expect it to take 10 months to go through and edit, and make rewrites? No. We are aiming to get the entirety of the PDF out before then.
The other exciting piece of news we have for you is that we plan to release the main campaign in 3 adventure groupings. 1-3 will be playtested twice, then edited, then prepped for PDF, and sent out to Book backers. While that is in playtest, we will do the same for 4-6, 7-9, and then, the finale with 10.
Each step may seem slow, but we are being fully present with this and taking the time that is needed to do it well
Kickstarter Merchandise
Thank you to everyone who filled out the shipping form. For any of you who missed it, some folks suggested that I offer an option for them to be able to pay for shipping again to receive the portion of their merchandise that is in the warehouse.
I’m currently working with the warehouse to configure the spreadsheets to work with their system. This morning, I received a detailed set of instructions and an accompanying spreadsheet to make this as easy as possible for their team.
Additionally, some addresses were incomplete, so I'm working on getting those in order to receive a shipping cost quote.
So, we are one step closer to getting those who opted in to the option their items.
If you just scrolled down to jump into the comments without reading, here is the TLDR:
1. Quest Master Material PDF - I am to send the PDF to Sirens Book Backers by October 1, 2025.
2. Sirens Campaign story dev overview starts Oct 6.
